Recently I had the pleasure of taking my family to a Ty Stone and the Truth show in Mt. Clemens, MI at the Stars and Stripes Festival on July 1st, 2011. I have been following Ty Stone for almost 5 years now but this was the first time I had the pleasure of taking my sons and watching them enjoy the experience. As I stood there waiting for Ty and the Truth to take the stage I remembered the first time I saw him perform. It was in Huntington WV when he opened up for Kid Rock in 2006. I can remember standing there looking up and seeing the banner simply state Ty Stone.

Ty Stone and The Truth Stars and Stripes Festival 2011 Fan Review(24 Jul '11)0Filed under:
I said to my husband “Ty Stone, who the heck is that?” Then this young man with nothing more than a guitar walked out on stage and flat out blew me away and why should this night be any different because that is just what happened. Ty walked out on stage that evening with nothing more than his guitar on that hot July night and belted out “Blessed St. Anthony” as only he can. At the end of the song I turned around and looked at my oldest son and I saw the same look that I had to have so many years ago…. Wow who is this? Ty and The Truth turned the show completely around and showed us all that they can rock just as hard with “Line of Blood” then to a cover of “Hurt So Good” where he had the crowd was all singing along whether they were young or old. Ty and the boys went on to introduce those in the crowd that had not heard his newest release “American Style” from his cd released nationally that shares the same name. As the evening went on Ty and the boys went on to play songs such as “I was a Man” and “Anywhere’s Better”. But when Ty broke out into “Amazing Grace” I can honestly say that I was brought to tears. The purity and depth of his voice never ceases to amaze any and all who have had the pleasure to attend one of his shows. They went on to turn the mood completely around and get us up and dancing again when playing “Real Thing”. Billy Reedy absolutely cut some amazing rips during that song. I looked around and people I didn’t even know where singing along with me. “Ashes of this Town”, I have heard referred to on twitter, Facebook, and in comments on YouTube as they absolutely “KILLED IT!” during that performance and I must agree. The entire show was a good time. What made it more enjoyable for me was to come to a town where I knew not a sole but the people that I brought with me and to spend the evening singing, dancing, and meeting new friends was an experience that I will never forget. Just as Ty, Billy, Greg, Christian, and Bryan starting into “Down River” the fireworks started to boom overhead. Just as the show was coming to a close and we were listening to the final song of the evening I must say I will never ever be able to hear “Faith in Love” or should I say Faith in Bugs the same way again. LOL… Even through the inundation of the Fish Flies, Ty and the Truth kept on. From soul to country to rock to gospel it was a full circle evening spent enjoying amazing music, family, and friends that I will never forget. Anyone reading this let me leave you with this last piece of advice, Ty Stone and the Truth are raising stars, keep your eyes on them because they are headed straight to the top.
